Plot

Goofy and Donald are at a marina where they buy a "U-Drive Sail Boat". After they get on board, Donald inspects the sail mechanism. It states that you must deposit a nickel, Donald does so, causing the mast and sail to shoot out of the mechanism, hitting Donald on the head. He and Goofy sail out to open sea, only for the mast and sail to slide back into the mechanism a few moments later, forcing Donald to deposit another nickel, once again causing the mast to hit him on the head. Once again, the mast and sail slide back into the mechanism after a few seconds, before Donald deposits another nickel he quickly moves to the other side of the mechanism to avoid getting hit on the head, but the mast shoots out on the same side causing it to again hit Donald on the head. Enraged, Donald kicks the mast back into the mechanism, causing it to flash a sign stating "Tilt". To make matters worse, Donald is revealed to not have any more nickels.

Donald and Goofy are forced to spend the night on the boat, stranded in the open ocean. The next day, Donald starts to become dehydrated, but Goofy takes out a cup and scoops seawater into it, Donald warns him not to drink it, but Goofy puts two ice cubes and more salt into it, finding it to be delicious, much to Donald's surprise. A cruise ship passes by causing the two of them to try to signal it for help, once Goofy takes off his shirt, a nickel falls out and Donald frantically tries to grab it, but it falls overboard. Goofy also waves goodbye to the cruise ship, forgetting to signal for help.

The two of them become stranded for several days, when one day, a fish jumps aboard the boat, causing Donald and Goofy to fight over it, when a passing seagull takes the fish from them and lands on Donald's head, where Goofy tries to hit it with a club. Aware of Goofy's intentions, the seagull migrates from Donald's head to Goofy's just as Goofy brings the club down on Donald's head. Upon realising where the bird is now, Goofy hands a dazed and angry Donald the club and is promptly hit on the head when the seagull changes sides again. Donald then grabs the club and begins repeatedly hitting Goofy on the head, however Goofy is distracted by the bird flying away. Donald stops to inspect the damage but is surprised when he sees that his beating has left lumps on the club. Donald tries to sit down when he lands on a fin, causing him to realize that they are now surrounded by sharks, he tries to tell Goofy who pulls out of the water a fin with nothing attached to it. Curious, Donald also tries to pull out of the water a fin that IS attached to a shark, scaring him. However, Goofy takes out a fishing rod to try to capture one.

As the hook swings past Donald it hooks itself onto his shirt, sending Donald circling over an oblivious Goofy's head. Goofy then casts the line far out from the boat, and as Donald sails over the water he is followed by two sharks. After falling underwater, Donald finds himself face-to-face with a shark, but after frantically swimming away from it he finds himself in the mouth of another shark, which he promptly swims out of and away from. But while Donald is fighting the sharks, Goofy is busy trying to untangle his fishing line but is getting it progressively even more tangled. Donald is only rescued when the sharks he is holding take off, spinning Goofy around the boat several times and prompting him to reel in, only to find instead of a fish at the end of his line, Donald, almost similar to On Ice. Donald furiously tells Goofy to put him down and he complies, however Donald accidentally falls bill-first into the mechanism's coin slot, which sends the mast shooting out and folding into place. The film ends with Goofy relaxing on the sailing boat, with Donald's bill still stuck in the coin slot, trying to get it out.
