Nupur Mehta

Nupur Mehta is an Indian actress. She was born on 21 September 1980 in a well to do family in Delhi. Both her parents are surgeons. She did her schooling from Delhi public school Rk puram and graduated in English literature. After winning Miss delhi contest she went to Milan Italy to pursue modelling at the age of 17. She returned to India in 2003 to win the Miss India title and thereafter decided to become an actress in Bollywood. Nupur was the lead in hindi movie aabra ka daabra. She featured in punjabi movie Dunali with Mika singh and in movie meet the patels . Her latest movie Vinashkaal released on 27 November 2020. as a part of the credited cast in Hindi movie Jo Bole So Nihaal.[1] Nupur has also starred in TV advertisements for Fanta and Pirelli, and been part of a Fiat calendar. She was on the cover of Sportswear International’s June 2001 issue.[2] She featured on the cover of one of India's first Mills & Boon books written by Astha Atray, His Monsoon Bride, after being chosen in a model hunt contest.[3][4]

Allegations of match fixing

The Sunday Times carried out a sting operation on a Delhi based bookie based on allegations that the ICC World Cup 2011 semi-final between India and Pakistan was fixed. A Hindi film actress was indicated to have been used to lure cricketers. The report included a blurred image resembling Mehta, who denied any role in the sting.[4][5] She is considering to sue the British Paper.[6] On 11 June 2012, Nupur Mehta was questioned by ICC's anti-corruption officer Alan Peacock in Mumbai.[7]

Geetika Sharma suicide case

Nupur Mehta was named in Geetika Sharma's suicide note along with her friend Ankita.[8]
