OJSC "Uzbekiston Pochtasi" is a company providing postal services in Uzbekistan . The company's services include the delivery of national and international mail, state pensions and the distribution of periodicals in Uzbekistan.[1]

History
Uzbekiston Pochtasi Open Joint Stock Company was established in 1992 as a concern. In 1997, the concern was transformed into the Uzbekiston Pochtasi state joint-stock company. During this period, the shares of the society were distributed as follows:

By 2004, the state joint-stock company was transformed into an open joint-stock company in order to further improve the postal service in Uzbekistan. Currently, the state owns 51% of the company and 49% of the shares are on sale. As of 2006 , the postal service had exchanged mail with 86 countries . Most of them are in Russia, Ukraine, the United States, Germany, Israel and Kazakhstan.[2]
Scope of service
Uzbekiston Pochtasi has 14 regional branches and 189 district and city networks and 2,979 service branches throughout Uzbekistan . The company also has a specialized branch "International Post Office", " International Express Mail", "Stamp of Uzbekistan" and a branch of the "Money Transfer Control Center". 10 , 1 and 386 railway cars through. The company employs more than 14,000 people. In addition to the postal service, the company distributes various periodicals, delivers pensions to the population, home telephones and accepts payments for other utilities, instant money transfers, and internet services.[3]
