The song became their 8th top ten hit in the UK, peaking at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also charted highly in Australia, where it reached No. 12. It also made the top forty in the U.S., reaching No. 34, and in Germany, with a chart position of No. 26.

Reception

Ian Gittins described the song in The Guardian as typical of the band's move into "slick, chart-friendly shoulder-heaving soul".[1] Peter Larsen wrote for the Orange County Register that it mines "a vein of soulfulness tinged with nostalgia and romance".[2]
