OrgSync

OrgSync was an online community management system for higher education institutions in the United States and Canada. OrgSync enabled colleges and universities to communicate with students and staff, track student involvement, and manage campus organizations and programs. Student organizations could manage their members, events, and websites.[1] OrgSync was acquired by Campus Labs in 2016 and has since been replaced with Campus Labs Engage.

The company was founded in 2007 by students and alumni from the University of Texas at Austin with the goal of increasing communication among organizations and making it easier for students to get involved.[2][3] By the end of 2009, OrgSync had established partnerships with over 100 universities and colleges.[4] On April 30, 2010 the company relocated its headquarters from Austin, TX to Dallas, TX.[5]

The software was developed using Ruby on Rails and hosted using cloud computing provided by Amazon Web Services.

Acquisition

On March 1, 2016 Campus Labs announced that they had acquired OrgSync.[6] This acquisition was made with the intention to merge the functionality of OrgSync and CollegiateLink, their existing product, into a new unified product. On April 04, 2017, Campus Labs announced their new product Engage.[7] The OrgSync website has directed users to Campus Labs Engage since September 18, 2018, though Campus Labs is still honoring existing contracts for OrgSync.
