Osaze Urhoghide (born 04 July 2000) is an Dutch-born English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Championship club Sheffield Wednesday.

Early life

Urhoghide was born in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents and moved to England aged five.[3]

Club career

AFC Wimbledon

Urhoghide signed his first professional contract with AFC Wimbledon on the 6 April 2018.[4]

Sheffield Wednesday

Following his release at the end of the 2018/19 season,[5] he impressed on trial at Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, where he would go on to sign a contract with the club. He went onto make his first team debut in the FA Cup third round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win. He made national headlines with an infectious post-match interview, which was shared by the likes of Gary Lineker and Peter Crouch on Twitter and viewed over 3.5 million times. [6] On 4 June 2020, he extended his stay a further season by signing a new contract until 2021.[7]
