Patients Know Best

Patients Know Best is a British social enterprise, with an aim of putting patients in control of their own medical records.[1] Patients Know Best also integrates into the NHS Connecting for Health network to provide patients with tools to work with clinicians. Its Chairman is Dr Richard Smith (editor). Mohammad Al-Ubaydli is the founder and chief executive officer.

The system has been trialled in the US.[2] It is in use in 19 different languages at more than 60 hospitals throughout the UK, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Hong Kong, the USA and the Netherlands.

After trials conducted by Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board it is to be rolled out across Wales in 2017.[3]

In July 2019 it formed a partnership with HealthUnlocked, integrating their eSocial Prescription capability with its own award-winning digital platform to enable more-holistic, personalised care plans in the form of a social prescription.[4]
