Paul Bonett

Paul Bonett (25 March 1930 in Floriana, Malta - 16 January 2019[1]) was a Maltese international football referee.[2]

Career

He officiated 6 international matches and was member of FIFA in 1961–1980. He attributed 3 matches in EURO qualifying 1972 (1), 1976 (1), 1980 (1) and 4 matches in World Cup qualifying 1970 (1), 1974 (1), 1978 (1)[3]

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as UEFA Cup (8) and Cup Winners Cup (11).[4] He refereed 1993 Maltese Super Cup match that played between Floriana-Valletta (4:1). He also officiated six Maltese Cup finals in 1963, 1968, 1969, 1971, 1973 and 1980.

Personal life

Paul Bonett was President of Football Referees Association of Malta in 1974–85.[5][6]
