Paul Whitman
Paul Lingenbrink Whitman (1897-1950) was an American artist. Whitman was born in Denver, Colorado. He was one of the original members of the Carmel Art Association in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.[1]

Career
In the late 1920s Whitman moved from Missouri to Carmel and worked with oils, watercolors, lithographs, landscapes, and waterfront paintings.[2] His work is included in the collections of the National Gallery of Art,[3] Mills College Art Museum,[4] the Monterey Museum of Art,[5] and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.[6] There have been exhibitions of his works at the Derek Rayne Gallery Exhibition (1947), the Beardsley Gallery Exhibition (1947), and the Trotter Galleries (2020).[7][2]
Death
Whitman died in Carmel on December 12, 1950 of a heart attack.[8]
