Philip Ettinger
Philip Ettinger is an American actor known for his role as Michael in First Reformed (2017), as Charles in Tyrel (2018), and as Cole Freeman in the 2020 film The Evening Hour.

Early life
Philip Ettinger was born to a Jewish family in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.[1] He studied film directing at Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts.[1] However, after enrolling for a summer program at William Esper Studio, New York City, Ettinger transferred to the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.[1][2] This course included spending a year in England studying at the Globe Theatre in London.[1]
Acting career
In 2014, Ettinger was nominated for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play (Bad Jews) at the Lucille Lortel Awards in New York.[3] In 2017, Ettinger starred alongside Ethan Hawke and Amanda Seyfried in the film First Reformed which was premiered at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival.[2] In 2018 Ettinger starred in the Sebastián Silva-directed film Tyrel, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.[2] In 2020 Ettinger attended the International Film Festival Rotterdam, in Netherlands, to promote the film The Evening Hour where he plays the lead role of Cole Freeman.[4][5]
