Pierre de Vieille-Brioude

Pierre de Vieille-Brioude was a noble man from Auvergne who became the 18th master of the Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem between 1240 and 1242.

Career

The first mention of Pierre de Vieille-Brioude as brother dates from February 1916. He became Grand commander between July 18, 1237 and April 1239. He succeeds Bertrand de Comps as master of the order between the end of 1239 and 1240.[1]

His gravestone was found in the crypt of the Hospitaller commandery of Saint-Jean-d'Acre :
