Prunus huantensis
Prunus huantensis is a South American tree native to mountain forests of Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. It may be a synonym of Prunus brittoniana.[1]

Description
It is a shrub or tree up to 27 m high,[2][3] with brown lenticellate branchlets.[2] Leaves 6.5--17 cm long, 3.5--7 cm wide; ovate, with a rounded base; rigid, coriaceous; shortly denticulate.[2][4] Flowers arranged in an elongated raceme up to 17 cm long; sepals 1 mm long; petals up to 3 mm long.[2] Fruits are black, spherical, up to 1.9 cm wide.[2][4]
Distribution and habitat
Prunus huantensis can be found in mountain forests at 2500–3500 m of elevation,[2][5] from southern Colombia to central Peru.[2][4][5]
Vernacular names
Names recorded for this species are: inca-inca (in central Peru);[2] pipe (in Pataz Province, northern Peru);[6] pandala or pundé (southern Colombia);[7] sacha capulí, capulí, laurel or canelón (in Ecuador).[3][8]
