Purseni

Purseni is a village in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.[1] It is approximately 20 km from Lucknow. Purseni's gram panchayat comprises Villages: Purseni, Gopal Kheda, Nagar, Hiraman Kheda. The main activity center of this village is Thakur Dwara which host a temple and playground. During the time of Dushehera Thakurdwara also hosts Ram Lila as well for five days. The history of the village is still unknown. The main activity of villagers includes farming, government services, etc.

Detailed Description

Thakurdwara is the place where youth of the village also gather in the evening to play volleyball and other popular games. Other games are played are like playing cards and cricket. Some very old games such as pakkilo (labha chhuiya) are obsolete now.

Festivals which are celebrated are Holi, Diwali,Khichdi,Rakchha Bandhan. Also on the occasion of Holi, prahlad is staged and holika dahan is done, also after that color festival is celebrated and a folksong which is known as "Faag" is sung by villagers. At some places Thandai is served and in the evening Holi Milan is done where villagers go to each other's place and they are served with dishes such as gujhiya, namkeen, etc.

In summers kids and teenagers also prefer to go to canal side, sharda canal and take bath there and that becomes very popular during summers .

Purseni village is also popular as not only people from here are farmers, people from here are also a part of both national and international companies.
