Qeybalı

Qeybalı (also, Ghaibalou and Keybaly) is a village in the Khojaly District of Azerbaijan. The village had an Azerbaijani majority prior to their forced expodus by Armenian forces during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War.[1] The village is under the occupation of Armenian forces as part of the Shushi Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. It was renamed Ghaibalishen (Armenian: Ղայբալիշեն) during its occupation.[2]

History

In July 1919, about 600 Armenian inhabitants of the village were massacred by armed Kurdish irregulars and Azerbaijani soldiers. Qeybalı was looted and burnt.[3][4]
