Within 2009 the band recorded and, at the beginning of 2010, self-released an extended play record on CD-R through their own Ziyoou Record (女王レコード, Joō Rekōdo) label, followed by another the same year, which they sold at their performances. In 2011 they had their first album, Witch Hunt, professionally manufactured and distributed. Later the same year they signed a major label contract, making Ziyoou Record a sub-label of Sony Music Associated Records.[1] They have since had four full-length major-label albums released[13] and their music has been featured in the films Love Strikes!,[14][15] Sadako[16] and Tokyo Ghoul 'S' and the television programs Spooky Romantics,[17][18] Tokyo Ghoul:re[19] and Dororo.[20]
Members
All members of Queen Bee work under pseudonyms and such personal details as their age, sex, family and educational background are not officially stated, though have sometimes been alluded to in passing by members or addressed in their songs' lyrics.

- Has written in the lyrics of the song "Half" about prejudices from other Japanese people faced on account of being Japanese with a mixed-race appearance.[22] She[23][24] has described her intention for the song "to be seen as neither attacking nor protecting, but carving the path to fate to move forward."[25] (An earlier version of the bands's official English website and an 2015 English interview used feminine pronouns; the current version of site as of December 2020 does not use any.)[26]
- Also a member of Gokumontō Ikka (獄門島一家, "Prison Gate Island Family"), a supergroup comprising Avu-chan on lead vocals and also trumpet[27] together with Ryosuke Nagaoka on guitar, KenKen of Rize on bass and Tatsuya Nakamura on drums[5] which has had a split single with Queen Bee released[28] (both Joōbachi and Gokumontō are titles of novels in the Kōsuke Kindaichi series by Seishi Yokomizo).
