Acquisitions

Quess Corp signs definitive agreements to acquire 61.35% stake in Allsec Technologies for Rs.271 Cr through their subsidiary Conneqt Business Solutions.[8]

At the meeting held on 27 September 2019, the Board of Quess Corp has approved acquisition of remaining 49% stake in Trimax Smart Infraprojects (TSIPL), a subsidiary of Quess. Post completion of acquisition, TSIPL will become wholly owned subsidiary of Quess.[9]

Corporate Actions

  • Quess completes the De-merger with Thomas Cook India Ltd and it is now held directly by Fairfax Holdings (~33% holding).[10][11]
  • A new brand campaign is launched in line with Quess' move to its new platform structure.[12]

Philanthropy

Quess’ aim is to actively contribute to the community and construct a positive and deep impacting footprint in the areas of health and education. To take this initiative forward Care Works Foundation (CWF) was established in 2014. Ministry of Education, Government of Karnataka established a partnership with Quess, in 2015, to augment and enhance government owned schools across the State. Thus far eight such schools have been adopted by Quess Corp Limited. [15]

Quess Corp Limited won an award for the Best IPO in 2017.[16]

Controversies

IKEA, a furniture retail company from Sweden, lodged an affidavit with Chennai Registrar of Trade Marks against Quess, stating that IKYA, a division of Quess Corp Ltd, was using a brand name similar to theirs. IKYA Human Capital Solutions won the indictment.[17]
