Race to the Sun (novel)
Race to the Sun is a novel written by Rebecca Roanhorse and was published on January 14, 2020.[1][2][3] It is one of many books in the Rick Riordan Presents imprint, and focuses on Navajo mythology. The book follows Nizhoni Begay, who can "detect monsters."

Plot
Nizhoni Begay suspects her father's new boss of being a monster due to her so-called "monster-detecting abilities," and when her father goes missing after his boss, Mr. Charles attacks Nizhoni, she mistrusts him doubly so. Nizhoni, her brother Mac, and their best-friend-from-school Davery must follow in the footsteps of the legendary Hero Twins, and find the House of the Sun, which will help them get Nizhoni's father back. - Nizhoni Begay: a Navajo girl who must save her father from dreadful monsters and follow in the footsteps of the Hero Twins the help of her brother Mac and best friend Davery.
- Mac Begay: Nizhoni's brother who is two years younger than her. Mac get lost along the journey, but reunites with his sister at the end of the novel.
- Davery Descheny: Nizhoni's nerdy best friend.
- Mr Begay: Nizhoni and Mac's father who goes missing; leaving one word carved into an apple for Nizhoni before his mysterious disappearance: Run!
- Mr. Charles: a monster posing as a human who is Nizhoni's dad's new boss at an oil company.
