He is the son of veteran politician and former union Minister of Finance (India), Balasaheb Vikhe Patil.
He was the Minister of Educational and Transportation in the Government of Ashok Chavan and reelected for Agriculture and Marketing in the Government of Maharashtra in the Prithviraj Chavan Government.[3][4]
Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil was elected to the Shirdi constituency in 2009. He has been re-elected in 2014 assembly elections with landslide lead around 75000 votes.
Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil have joined Bhartiya Janta party in July 2019.
