Early life

Drăgușin's mother, Svetlana Simion, played basketball, while his father, Dan Drăgușin, played volleyball, both being Romanian internationals in their respective sports.[1] Born in Bucharest, Romania, Drăgușin was attracted to football by his cousin, and started playing at the age of seven at Sportul Studențesc București.[2] He played for four years until the club's dissolution, and moved to Regal Sport București.[3]

Club career

Juventus

In 2018 Drăgușin moved to Serie A club Juventus from Regal București for €260,000.[2] Initially an under-17 player, Drăgușin quickly moved to Juventus' under-19 team.[4] On 25 January 2020, midway through the 2019–20 Serie C season, Drăgușin made his debut for Juventus U23 against Pro Patria, coming on as a substitute in the 36th minute for Raffaele Alcibiade.[5]

On 8 November 2020, Drăgușin was first called-up for the senior team in a league game against Lazio.[4] He made his club and European debut on 2 December, featuring as a substitute in 3–0 home win against Dynamo Kyiv in a UEFA Champions League group stage game.[4] Drăgușin's Serie A debut came on 13 December, coming on as a substitute in the 90th minute for Matthijs de Ligt in a 3–1 away win to Genoa.[6] On 13 January 2021, Drăgușin started his first game for Juventus in the Coppa Italia,[7] beating Genoa 3–2 after extra time.[8]

Style of play

A tall and physical centre-back, Drăgușin has cited Virgil Van Dijk as a point of reference.[4]
