Raja Jang
Raja Jang (Urdu: راجہ جنگ), is a town and Union Council of Kasur District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.[1] It is part of Kasur Tehsil and is located at 31°13'15N 74°15'7E with an altitude of 196 metres (646 feet).[2] Its population is over 100,000. It is situated at a higher altitude than Lahore. The BRB Canal passes the north-west side of the town. With its steep and sloping old streets, it enlightens a culture of Sikh and Hindu architecture. It has 100% Muslim population. There exists a problem of clean water here. It is connected with rail and road with the rest of neighbouring towns. Kite flying is a festivity at Eid.

History
The Name Raja Jang is a variation of the name of Raja Jinak. Raja Jinak was a famous person who once lived in Raja Jang under British rule. Raja Jang is a historic town with historic streets, mansions and a couple of castles. After 1947, Sikhs and Hindus left behind havelis and mansions. Famous personality Muhammad Rafique Tahir S.S.T Retired, Rana Asim Hussain Sardar Yaqoob khan Almaroff Sardar Badshah Khan Meo, Ch Amjad Khan Rodi Meo, Ch Umar khan Kacha, Rj Qasim Pakistani, Haji Gulam Haider, Sardar Mohammad Ahmed Beguka, Rai Tahir, Sardar Babar Badshah. Former senior headmaster Muhammad Aslam (RA) was the great figure of this town who taught more than three generations without any greed. In this regards RajaJang is the only sole town of district Kasur whose literacy rate is very high. During his time Sir Muhammad Rafique Tahir produced many MBBS doctors, engineers,CSP officers, Professors, teachers and army officers.
Festivals
The main festivals are the Urs of Baba Fateh Shah, Baba Khaki shah. The Muslim population of the town shows great interest in celebrating Eid Melad un Nabi on 12 Rabi ul Awwal every year. Streets and houses are being enlightened and the town presents a beautiful sight. People came here to celebrate the day from other towns and far away. Urus of Baba Fateh Shah is a famous festival of Raja Jang. Its celebrated in the first week of February every year. Urus of Baba Lal Shahbaz is also a famous festival.
Sports
Rassa Kashi (Tug of war) is the major sports item of this town. Especially the GOVT. H/S Raja Jang was the divisional champion of Rassa Kashi till the 1990s in the regime of headmaster Muhammad Aslam Ch. Rassa Kashi team was prepared by Mian Amanat Ali saheb, who really took keen interest to make his team winnable. Mast Muhammad Rafeeq was in charge of the football team of the school, who struggled to make the team competitive. Raja Jang has many teams like football and cricket, which hold local sports competition annually in which near by cities teams are invited to participate. Hockey is also popular. Raja Jang has a very big playground which is located on the eastern side gate of the Government High School Raja Jang. Every year the annual sports are conducted here in which many teams from near by schools participates.
