Ravi Kant (Indian executive)

Kant completed his education at Mayo College, Ajmer. He has a Bachelor of Technology degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, MS in Industry from Aston University and Honorary D. Sc. from Aston University in July 2008. He is the Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, where he also serves as the Distinguished Professor.

Kant served as the Managing Director of Tata Motors Limited. He served as Director of Consumer Electronics at Philips India; Director of Marketing at LML Ltd. and Vice President of Marketing at Titan Watches Ltd. He served as the President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. He serves as Chairman of Indian Institute of Management Rohtak; Tata Advance Materials Ltd. and TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd.

Previously, he acted as chairman and director of several Tata companies in India and abroad. He serves as the Chairman at Tata Advanced Materials Limited. He serves as the Non-Executive Vice-Chairman of Tata Motors Limited. He served as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Voltas Ltd. He served as a Director of TAL Manufacturing Solutions Limited until 1 June 2014 and Tata Industries Ltd.

After retirement from the corporate world, he is presently contributing as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital[2] - a unit of YUGRISHI SHRIRAM SHARMA ACHARYA CHARITABLE TRUST[3] which is the largest eye hospital in Eastern India and one of the top 5 eye hospitals in India working towards eradicating curable blindness from low-income regions and empower rural underprivileged girls/ women to achieve this.
