Club career

Born in São Paulo, Renan began his career on Portuguesa, and made his debut on 22 August 2013, starting in a 1–2 home loss against Bahia, for that year's Copa Sudamericana.[1] It was his maiden appearance of the year, with his side being relegated from Série A.

Renan was definitely promoted to the main squad in 2014, being a regular starter in the year's Campeonato Paulista. On 24 May he scored his first professional goal, netting the last in a 2–0 home win against Atlético Goianiense for the Série B championship.[2]

Renan appeared in 17 league matches, as Portuguesa suffered another drop. On 17 August 2015 he signed a three-year deal with Atlético Paranaense, after being previously on trial at the club.[3]

On 14 December 2015, Renan was loaned to Ferroviária, until the end of 2016 Campeonato Paulista.[4] After returning from loan, he made his top tier debut on 21 August 2016, starting in a 0–1 away loss against Atlético Mineiro.
