Hospital Background
The hospital building at 6601 Rockhill Road was first known as Baptist Medical Center, and then Baptist-Lutheran Medical Center. When HCA Midwest purchased Baptist-Lutheran in 2006, the corporation closed the inpatient portion of the hospital. All inpatient services were transferred at that time to Research Medical Center, an existing inpatient hospital and trauma center less than two miles away. The emergency department and outpatient services remained open, now renamed Research Medical Center - Brookside Campus to show that it had become a satellite facility of Research Medical Center.
