Political career
He began his political career as a Councilor in the Municipality of San Juan in 1995, at the age of 23. In 1998, he served as Chief of Staff at the office of Senator Jaworski for 6 years, prior to his being elected as Congressman for the lone district of Pasig City in 2004. In 2004 as a congressional candidate of Pasig City. Dodot's opponent was the then incumbent congressman, Noel "Toti" Cariño, who would lose to him. But Toti and Dodot would become party mates in 2006. Upon finishing his congressional term in 2007, he filed his Certificate of Candidacy for mayor of Pasig. One of his opponents was the incumbent Mayor's son, Bobby Eusebio. Dodot's party mates then in the political party called Partido Pasigueño were Toti and the 2004 vice mayoralty candidate, Briccio "Echie" Ramos. The early part of the election vote tally showed Dodot leading, but was overtaken by Bobby. Dodot lost the mayoralty election but promised to file a protest against his winning opponent, Bobby Eusebio.[2]
