Root Township is one of twelve townships in Adams County, Indiana.[1] As of the 2010 census, its population was 4,443.[2]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 35.57 square miles (92.1 km2), of which 35.44 square miles (91.8 km2) (or 99.63%) is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 km2) (or 0.34%) is water.[3]
