Rowllin Borges

Rowllin Borges (born 5 June 1992) is an Indian footballer who currently plays for both Indian Super League club Mumbai City and the Indian national team. He plays in a Defensive midfield role.

Career

2008-11 (Sporting Clube de Goa U18)

Rowllin Borges started his career with the Sporting Clube de Goa Under 18 squad.

2011-16 (Sporting Clube de Goa)

In June 2011 Borges was signed for Sporting Clube de Goa who were then in the I-League. He then made his debut for Sporting Goa on 23 October 2011 against Prayag United in the I-League.[2]

2016-19 (NorthEast United FC)

On May 25, 2016 NorthEast United FC announced the signing of Borges on a free transfer.[3] After the season he was loaned to SC East Bengal until 2017. On 8 July 2017 NorthEast United announced that Borges has signed a 2 year extension.[4]

2017 (East Bengal FC)

On 11 December 2016, after spending a season with NorthEast United in the Indian Super League, Borges signed a loan deal with East Bengal of the I-League.[5]

2019- Present (Mumbai City FC)

On June 5 Mumbai City FC announced the signing of Rowllin Borges on a 3 year deal. The announcement was made on his birthday.[6]

International career

India

He scored his first goal for India in the match against Nepal in the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2015 at Greenfield Stadium at Thiruvananthapuram.

Style Of Play

Rowllin Borges plays as a Defensive midfielder , at NorthEast United FC under then NEUFC coach Eelco Schattorie reinvented Borges' style of play and turned the defensive enforcer into a box-to-box midfielder with great success.
