Career

Drummond began his career as the bass vocalist in the A.Y.U. Quartet, whom he has been active with since 1991. He would later star in a musical comedy in San Diego called "Forever Plaid".[4]

Drummond became the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog in the video games series for SEGA in 1998, he continued to voice the character for six more years until 2004, the video games includes Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic Shuffle.[5][6][7] He was succeeded by Jason Griffith in the anime series Sonic X.[8]

Drummond initially wanted to play Sonic in the anime adaptation Sonic X, and even offered to move to New York so he could play the role, 4Kids instead hired Jason Griffith.[9]

In an interview, Drummond states he was offered the chance by Sega to re-audition for the role of Sonic, but rejected the role because Sega refused to give him a union contract.[10]

Drummond has also acted in several live action films and television shows, he made his feature film debut in the 2000 teen cheerleading comedy film, Bring It On as Theatre Boy. In television, he appeared in Baywatch, Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, The Chronicle, The Invisible Man, Point Pleasant and Trauma.

Outside of acting, Drummond has also worked in comedy, such as a mime and a clown.[8]

Personal life

He lives in San Francisco, California with his two sons Daniel and Tommie, whom he had with his former wife Lisa.[8][11] Drummond would update his fans about his personal life from time to time on his online blog.[12]
