Sahar Biniaz

Sahar Biniaz (born November 17, 1985) is an Iranian-Canadian actress, model and beauty queen who won Miss Universe Canada 2012. She had a reoccurring role on the hit TV show Sanctuary as Kali, goddess of destruction.

  • Biniaz guest-starred in the second-season finale and the first series of third season of Sanctuary as "Kali".
  • Biniaz also guest-starred in an episode of the SpikeTV series Blue Mountain State.[1]
  • Biniaz guest-starred in Smallville as Shayera Hall, aka the DC Comics superhero Hawkgirl, in the second episode of the tenth and final season, entitled "Shield".[2]

Biniaz competed in the Miss Universe Canada 2003 pageant where she did not place. She went on to compete in beauty pageants representing Canada, including winning 1st runner-up in Miss Universe Canada 2008. Four years later, she competed in the same pageant and won the title of "Miss Universe Canada 2012". She also won the Revlon Professional Best Hair award.[6] and was originally going to represent Canada in Miss Universe 2012 but in November, she was unable to compete due to what was believed to be a foot injury. Although it is widely known in the pageant industry that it was due to her age, as she was older than the age requirement at the time.
