Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar (born 20 June 1977) is an Indian politician and leader of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) form Maharashtra currently representing Nilanga constituency, Maharashtra as Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

He had represented Nilanga (VidhanSabha constituency) in 2004, 2014 and 2019. Sambhajirao Patil Nilangekar served as Cabinet Minister for Maharashtra State Government. He was also guardian minister of Latur District.

Being explored to the public & social service work since childhood, from his visionary parents, he learnt the capability to identify and solve the public issues. As always tuned in the social service environment, being extremely talented, young, highly educated youth leadership, he achieved a remarkable position in the politics of Marathwada & Maharashtra, and accepted as People's representative for the third time.


Public Leadership

Sambhajirao Patil Nilangekar is the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Latur district. On entering politics at a very young age, he got the honor of being the youngest MLA in Marathwada (27 years old). He got the first opportunity to become MLA of Nilanga constituency for 2004 to 2009.

As an MLA, he has been working tirelessly for the betterment of the people, with the role of "Nation First". He played a key role in the Bharatiya Janata Party's victory in the 2017 Latur Municipal Corporation elections. Due to his leadership qualities, he has built an exemplary strength of BJP activities in the district. In 2020, the Bharatiya Janata Party secured victory over 7 out of 10 Panchayat Samitis and elected the Zilla Parishad President and Vice President unopposed. He was instrumental in steering and nurturing the Bharatiya Janata Party in Latur district.

The Nilanga constituency consists of three talukas, namely Devani, Shirur-Anantpal and Nilanga. Nilanga taluka has the highest number of villages and hamlets. He also has taken the initiatives to solve possible problems faced by the Gram Panchayats. For the last 20 years citizens, villagers, office bearers and member of every society look to him as a true public leader for quick problems solving. Despite being a three-time MLA, he is still referred to as "Shambho" in general respectfully.

Since he is nurtured under great tradition of social work in his family, he has a special inclination to work in agriculture as well as an attitude of taking initiative in social work. He has been constantly trying to solve the problems of farmers, farm laborers and youth. He is getting great success in all respect. Due to the highly educated, studious and far-sighted approach as well as the sensitive personality, his every working action is proving all benefits for the farmers of Latur district.

Railway bogie factory : Transforming Marathwada

The problem of unemployment is becoming serious in Marathwada. That is why he followed up with the then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis and got the Railway Bogie factory approved. Being largest factory of the Central Government in Marathwada, this will be of great help in developing the industrial sector in Marathwada. The factory will also manufacture air-conditioned bogies for the metro which will provide employment to thousands of young people. The foundation ceremony was held on March 31, 2018 at the auspicious hands of Hon. Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis and Hon. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. The 150.54 hectare project of railway bogie factory started on 12th October. The first phase railway bogie factory aims to produce 250 bogies a year, while the second phase aims to build 400 bogies a year.

Multi-Dimensional Development

He is the youngest popular leader in Latur district who is constantly fighting for the water issue of Latur. Through his continuous pursuit, the Marathwada Water Grid and River Linkage Project was approved. Under his able guidance, Jalayukta Shivar project was successfully implemented. He took the initiative in implementing a number of social activities that would be conducive to overall development.

Harit (Green) Shivchhatrapati

The world record for Developing world's greatest Harit(Green) image of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was set in Latur district. This image is created by plant’s greenery. The greenery was grown by sowing of seeds in a very specific time frame into the field ad given a shape of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The initiative was implemented to create awareness about drip irrigation or similar modern irrigation system, to create intimacy with the environment. Awareness was also created on how to do more farming with less water. The inspiration, an image of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was added to this awareness project, as If there is any innovative concept happening in his Swarajya, he should be given recognition, supported and followed. The panoramic view of Harit (Green) Shivchhatrapati was breath-taking.

Launching of the Largest National Flag

The largest national flag in Marathwada was hoisted in Latur district. The national flag is introduced for continuous inspiration and remembering a national unity, integrity, sacrifice and social bonding.

Sensitive Approach towards Farmers, Agricultural laborers and toilers

Successful and sustained efforts were made by constant follow-up of the government to provide crop insurance, subsidy and crop loan to the farmers.

Home to Construction workers

The state government decided to give the rightful house to the workers through Atal Bandhakam Kamgar Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, construction workers are being given financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakhs for construction of their home.

Indraprastha Jalbhumi Abhiyan

Started working on water for latur under visionary project Indraprastha Jalbhumi Abhiyan. In four years, the district underwent major changes through JalYukt-Shivars. Indraprastha Jalbhumi Abhiyan was undertaken under the leadership of Hon'ble Former Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis.

Boundless efforts to complete the concept of “Antyodaya Abhiyan”

Working on fulfilment of aim of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, 'Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Abhiyan' was implemented by the Department of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection from 15th July 2019 to 15th August 2019. During this period, new ration cards were distributed to 1 lakh 50 thousand 596 families in the state.

Goal and Concern for Worker’s Welfare!

Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, a leader of common man, always considers protecting the needs, welfare and ensuring safety of farmers, labour as utmost duty while working into society. Providing them with a rightful home, information on insurance scheme, provision of other basic facilities, health and education of their children likewise remarkable activities are done along with all possible other activities. In order to facilitate aforesaid things, priority plans regarding this made by the labor department of the country as well as the state were implemented successfully.

Distribution of useful Tool Kit to 8,797 disabled people!

Late Dilipraoji Patil Nilangekar, Father of Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar Dreamt for empowering every disabled person. He also started work in line with this aim. To fulfil his dream, former MP Smt. Rupatai Patil Nilangekar (Akka) has been working through "Akka Foundation" to raise many disabled people for sustainable development. Furthermore, concept of distribution of useful material to the disabled persons was put forward by Shri. Sureshji Patil helped Mr.Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar during his tenure as Guardian Minister for latur district. Accordingly he started working to turn this concept of distribution of useful material to the disabled person into a reality on December 3, 2017. Divyang brothers from all over the district were identified and registered through a special portal. After years of tireless efforts a data is collected. With referring the data generated through the specified portal, the Ministry of Social Justice and the Social Welfare Department of the ZillaParishad jointly distributed useful materials to 8,797 disabled persons. Earlier, materials were distributed to 12,000 persons with disabilities in 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh. However, Latur will be the first district in the country as useful materials was distributed to 8,797 disabled people in Latur district alone. The consistent efforts and pursuit are being taken by MLA Sambhajirao Patil Nilangekar to fulfill the dream of Father Late Dilipraoji Patil Nilangekar.

  • The amount granted as part of relief measures for Drought-hit 10 lakh 45 thousand 875 farmers in Latur district is 675 crore 33 lakh.
  • The amount granted as part of relief measures for the Hail affected the beneficiaries of 4 lakh 12 thousand is 665.176 Cr 11 lakh.
  • Farmers benefiting from crop insurance –Beneficiaries 2 lakh 6 thousand 939, amount of 4186 crore 51 lakh Rs.
  • Beneficiaries of Gharkul schemes in rural areas are 1 lakh 66 thousand 419 and concern amountgranted for scheme was 186 crore 76 lakh.
  • Urban housing scheme’s Beneficiaries are 1 thousand 462 and concern amount granted for scheme was 41 crore Rs
  • Toilet construction in rural areas - 1 lakh 74 thousand 627, and concern amount granted for scheme was 112 crore 19 lakh Rs.

  • National Highways development- 269 kms, concern amount spent was 3006 crores.

Successful tenure as minister

As a Maharashtra's Minister for Labor Development, Skills Development, Ex-Servicemen's Welfare and Earthquake Rehabilitation, Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar made significant contributions in labour welfare, skill development and employment opportunities though them. He also played a crucial rule in overall development of latur district during his tenure as guardian minister of Latur District.

  • Latur district has received Rs 644.52 crore from the water supply department in the last five years.
  • In the National Rural Drinking Water Program, a plan of Rs. 359 crore was approved for 333 schemes in 290 villages and hamlets for the year 2019-2020.
  • Funds of Rs. 65 crore were received for 49 schemes in Ausa taluka.
  • Under the CM Rural Drinking Water Scheme, new schemes worth Rs 10 crore were started in 13 villages.
  • A fund of Rs. 43.06 crore was sanctioned for revival of Regional Water Supply Scheme. This will benefit 1 lakh 56 thousand people in 51 villages.
  • Funds of Rs. 28 crore 58 lakhs were brought for the schemes of 30 villages including Killari in Ausa taluka.
  • 4 crore 35 lakhs are being made available for the scheme of 6 villages including Kharosa and 6 crore 19 lakhs for the scheme of 10 villages including Matola.
  • Under Swachha Bharat Mission, 1 lakh 90 thousand 242 toilets have been constructed in Latur district in the last five years at a cost of Rs. 182 crore 56 lakhs.
  • A water supply scheme of Rs. 45 crore 20 lakhs was sanctioned from the Lower Terna (Makani) project in Ausa city.
  • A total of Rs 40 crore was received for 40 schemes in Nilanga taluka.
  • Rural Solid Waste and Sewage Management Project will be implemented in 50 villages of Ausa taluka under Swachh Bharat Mission.
  • The Labour Welfare Board has registered a record number of 16 lakh 10 thousand 619 Constructionworkers, toilers in the country till the year 2019. The construction labour and their families are benefited through various 28 schemes. The labours, toilers in the state are getting their rightful home due to Effective implementation of the schemes.
  • With the aim of imparting skills training to 4.5 crore youth by 2022, the Mahakaushalya Portal has been launched to provide various services related to employment, self-employment and skills development.
  • Pramod Mahajan Skills and Entrepreneurship Development Campaign has been launched to fulfill the goal of "Skilled Maharashtra, Employed Maharashtra". People have got employment and self-employment through this scheme.
  • For empowering self-help groups, more than 700 self-help groups were given 50000 cash prizes on an experimental basis in Latur district. Also, cash prizes of Rs. 2 lakh each were given to the best 10 self-help groups at the district level
  • Apart from this, he successfully worked as the Guardian Minister of Latur District. He is also working tirelessly to solve the problems of the citizens through various schemes of the Central Government like Make in India, Skill India start up India etc.
  • In the 13th Maharashtra Assembly elections held in 2014, he has been marked as peoples’ representative of the entire Nilanga constituency by getting 76817 votes. In continuation with this in 2019, he got vote rise to 97324 votes. And won by 32,131 votes. The struggle for drought relief, and the blessings bestowed on him by the people for his wholeheartedly efforts for farmers, agricultural laborers and has become a point of contention in 2019 election victory. Through Jana Aashirwad Yatra, he went to every village and conveyed the message of drought relief assurance to the every citizen who suffered.

Father: Late Diliprao Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar (1985 - MLA, Nilanga Constituency) Mother: Former MP, Mrs. Rupatai Diliprao Patil Nilangekar, mother is as Sambhajirao's place of worship in politics. Hon. Rupatai Patil Nilangekar was elected as MP in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, from Latur constituency, Tree Plantation - For the green and prosperous Latur, his mother did a lot of tree planting work without spending a single rupee from others for it. All her salary during her tenure as MP was spent by herself for the above noble cause and is still carrying out this sacred work with all her pension money.

Brother: Arvind Diliprao Patil Nilangekar is an emerging leader and social worker in Latur region. He has great management skills and equally passionate for social work. he runs for solving the problems of needy and deprived one, people follows him as true leader.
