Sardaar Ji 2
Sardaar Ji 2 (previously The Return of Sardaarji) is a 2016 Punjabi film starring Diljit Dosanjh, Monica Gill and Sonam Bajwa in lead roles[3][4][5] and directed by Rohit Jugraj.[6][7] The film was released on 24 June 2016.[8][9][10] It is a standalone sequel to 2015 film Sardaar Ji.On release, film received mixed reviews unlike the prequel which received positive reviews.Film grossed less than its prequel and was declared average at Box-Office.

Planning and shooting
After success of Sardaar Ji, producers decided for a sequel The Return of Sardaarji. Shooting of the film took place in different locations in Australia mainly.[11] Diljit was mobbed by his Australian fans to his surprise when he reached the airport in Australia.[12][13] The crew also shot at Macarthur region of New South Wales.[14] During the shoot, Diljit rescued Sonam and others from a horrible accident at set.[15] Diljit had to undergo 6 months of intensive physical training by hiring Ranbir Kapoor's personal trainer Pradeep Bhatia.[16][17]

The soundtrack of Sardaarji 2 was composed by Jatinder Shah & Nick Dhammu while the lyrics were written by Veet Baljit and Ranbir Singh.[19]
The video of film's title track Sardaarji was shot for two days in a row, created a record as it features 2500 Sardars dressed in white attires and turbans, out of which 1200 are Diljit's fans who came specially to shoot for the song.[20]

Reception
Box office
The movie broke the record of Sardaar Ji in Punjab, grossing ₹2.05 crore (US$290,000) on first day.[21][22] The film minted total ₹14.25 crore (US$2.0 million) in its first week on 350 screens in India[23] while from the overseas markets, the film grossed ₹6.05 crore (US$850,000)[24] including ₹4.25 crore (US$600,000) only from U.S. box office in 10-days.[25]
