Saurav Lokesh

Saurav Lokesh (born 28 may,1984) also known as Bhajarangi Loki is an Indian film Actor. Who, predominantly works in Kannada Film industry. He rose to the fame with 2013 blockbuster Bhajarangi starring Shivarajkumar.[1][2]

Early life

Saurav was born as youngest son to V. Ramakrishna & L. Rajalakshmi in Srinagar Bangalore district, Karnataka. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He was instantly drawn to acting after watching a play during his Final Year in College. He was employed at HSBC before he resigned and followed his passion for acting and started doing theatre.

Career

Saurav Lokesh started his acting journey from Theatre in the year 2006. He has worked with most of the amateur & professional theatre groups from 2006-2014, which includes more than 30 plays which has been performed over 100+ shows. While he was doing theatre he managed to get into television serials and started doing supporting roles but did not achieve much success.

Saurav Lokesh made his sandalwood debut in the year 2009 with a small role in the movie Savaari directed by Jacob Verghese. He then appeared in small supporting roles in the Huli, AK 56 & Shiva – all directed by Om PrakashRao between 2010-2012. He appeared as an antagonist in Rocking Star Yash’s starrer in 2013 release Googly & Mr. & Mrs. Ramachari both went on to be blockbuster films.

He has appeared in more than 12 movies in small supporting roles before getting his breakthrough performance in Dr.ShivaRajKumar starrer Bhajarangi directed by A. Harsha which won him many applause and was praised for his role as Rana. The movie was a commercial hit and got him wide recognition as an actor and he became popular as Bhajarangi Loki.[3][4][5] In the year 2015 he appeared in a movie Rathaavara directed by Chandrashekar Bandiyappa. In this Saurav appeared in a role of Transgender which furthered his fame. The movie was also later released in Telgu as Rathavaram.[6][7] In 2015 releases, he played a role of lawyer in the movie Mahakaali[8] directed by S. Mahendar and as an antagonist opposite to Diganth's Sharp Shooter. In 2016, he appeared in the movie Jaguar, which was made as a bilingual [Kannada & Telgu] is one of the highest budget movie of Sandalwood. The movie won mixed review & he also managed to get an introduction to Telugu film industry.[9] In the same year, he appeared as one of the lead antagonist in Jai Maruthi 800 (2016) directed by A. Harsha. In 2017, Sharan starrer Raj Vishnu which was a remake of Tamil movie “RajiniMurgan” Saurav appeared in the role of Bhujanga. In Thayige Thakka Maga (2018), he played as an antagonist in the role of Sharath Kale which was directed by Shashank.[10] In 2019, Pawan Trivikram's directorial debut "Striker" Saurav Lokesh played a role as a Cop in the suspense thriller film.[11] In the same year he appeared as Bairaa in Radhika Kumarswamy's come back film “Damayanthi” (2019) directed by Navarasan.[12] In 2020, he appeared as an antagonist in Rom-com fantasy movie “Kaanadante Maayavadanu” which was Raj Pathipati’s directorial debut starrer Vikas & Sindhu Loknath.[13][14]
