In the United Kingdom, Jet Harris & Tony Meehan's version reached No. 2 on both the Record Retailer chart[1] and the New Musical Express chart.[2] The song also reached No. 4 on New Zealand's "Lever Hit Parade",[3] while reaching No. 5 in Israel,[4] No. 7 on the Irish Singles Chart,[5] and No. 12 in Australia.[6]
Lawrence Welk's version spent 2 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 89,[7] while reaching No. 10 in Hong Kong,[8] and No. 17 on Canada's CHUM Hit Parade.[9]
