Scrobipalpa vicaria

Scrobipalpa vicaria is a moth of the family Gelechiidae. It was described by Edward Meyrick in 1921. It is found in Spain, as well as on Malta, Crete and the Canary Islands.[1] Outside of Europe, it is found in Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Namibia and South Africa.[2]

The wingspan is about 10 mm (0.39 in). The forewings are ochreous brown suffusedly irrorated (sprinkled) with fuscous, tinged with orange beneath the costa anteriorly. There is a small blackish spot on the costa at one-fourth and sometimes one in the middle. The stigmata are blackish, the plical obliquely before the first discal. There is an obscure lighter angulated transverse shade at three-fourths, the extremities preceded by some blackish irroration. There is also a suffused blackish spot in the disc beyond this, and cloudy dots around the apical part of the costa and termen. The hindwings are light grey, paler and bluish tinged in the disc.[3]
