Sebastian Berhalter
Sebastian Berhalter (born May 10, 2001) is a British-born American soccer player who currently plays for the Columbus Crew. Berhalter played college soccer for the University of North Carolina and was signed by Columbus to a homegrown contract in 2020.

Career
Youth and college
Berhalter was born in London and was raised in the Columbus area. He joined the Columbus Crew SC Academy in 2014 and played for several teams, making 103 appearances and scoring 11 goals. Berhalter played his freshman season at the University of North Carolina in 2019, playing in 16 matches.[1][2]
Professional
Berhalter was announced as a homegrown player signing by the Columbus Crew on January 17, 2020.[1] He made his professional debut on July 11, 2020, against FC Cincinnati during the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando, Florida. His first professional start was five days later versus New York Red Bulls on July 16, 2020, in the MLS is Back Tournament. Berhalter finished the season making a total of nine appearances, splitting time with fellow homegrown player Aidan Morris as the primary midfield backup for a Columbus side that won the 2020 MLS Cup.

Personal life
He is the son of former Columbus and current United States head coach Gregg Berhalter and former University of North Carolina Tar Heels player Rosalind Roz Santana.[3]
