Selimiye, Üsküdar
Selimiye is one of the 33 neighborhoods in the Üsküdar district located on the Asian side of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey.[2]

History
Selimiye Barracks established by Ottoman Sultan III. Selim for Nizâm-ı Cedîd made big progress for the development of Selimiye neighborhood. It was built in 1800 in the frame of the Ottoman military reform efforts. Üsküdar printing house built in 1802 that had played an important role in the history of Turkish science.[3]Industrial facilities established here, being one of the most crowded neighborhoods of Üsküdar in the middle of the 19th century, indicate the development of this neighborhood.[4]
As of 2019, the population of the Selimiye neighborhood is 8834.
