Serhiy Adamchuk

Serhiy Adamchuk is a Ukrainian kickboxer and Sambo fighter, fighting out of Amsterdam, Netherlands for Mike's Gym. Well known for his southpaw stance, technical fighting style and good boxing skills, Adamchuk is considered a top featherweight kickboxer. He entered the global kickboxing scene after joining Glory and collecting victories over highly ranked fighters like Varga, Amrani and Marat Grigorian.[1]

Adamchuk is the former Glory featherweight champion having defeated the previous champion Gabriel Varga at Glory 25: Milan.[2] He is also the former ISKA Super Welterweight World Champion.

As of February 2021, he is the #8 ranked featherweight in the world, according to Combat Press.[3] Between December of 2015[4] and February 2017,[5] as well as between June 2018[6] and February 2019[7] he was ranked in the featherweight top ten by Combat Press, peaking at #2 in July 2016.[8]

Career

During Glory 22, Adamchuk faced Marat Grigorian, winning the fight by unanimous decision.[9]

Adamchuk contested the Glory featherweight title against Gabriel Varga during Glory 25. Despite coming into the fight as an underdog, Adamchuk won a unanimous decision.[10]

He defended the title against Mosab Amrani[11] and thus became the first fighter to successfully defend the Glory featherweight title.

Gabriel Varga fought a rematch with Adamchuk after winning the number one contender tournament. Varga won a unanimous decision during Glory 32.[12]

In the next Glory event, Glory 33, Adamchuk entered the featherweight title eliminator tournament. He would lose to Giga Chikadze in the semifinal.[13]

Adamchuk once again entered the featherweight tournament during Glory 39. He defeated Nafi Bilalovski in the semifinals and lost to Petpanomrung Kiatmuu9 in the finals.[14]

He faced Dylan Salvador during Glory 42. Adamchuk lost a unanimous decision.[15]

Adamchuk once again challenged for the featherweight title during Glory 45. He lost a unanimous decision to Robin van Roosmalen.[16]

He fought Petpanomrung Kiatmuu9 for the featherweight title two more times, during Glory 63 and 75, losing unanimous decisions both times.[17][18]

Adamchuk is also a professional MMA fighter, with an 11–5 fight record. He made his mixed martial arts debut in 2009 and had his last fight in 2013.
