Shantay Legans

Shantay Legans (born July 30, 1981) is an American college basketball head coach at Eastern Washington University.[2]

Legans was a former basketball player at the University of California at Berkeley (1999-2002) and Fresno State University (2003-2004). After his collegiate career he played overseas in the Netherlands before going into coaching.

Eastern Washington

On March 29, 2017, Legans was named the coach at Eastern Washington, replacing Jim Hayford.[3] Previously, he had been an assistant under Hayford for eight seasons.

Legans was named Big Sky Coach of the Year in 2020 after his team finished 23-8, first in the Big Sky Conference.

Personal life

Legans is married to Tatjana, a former Eastern Washington basketball player; they have a daughter and a son.
