Shigaraki Station

Shigaraki Station (信楽駅, Shigaraki Eki) is a railway station operated by Shigaraki Kohgen Railway in Kōka, Shiga, Japan. It is the southwestern terminus of the Shigaraki Line.

Station overview

Shigaraki Station has two side platforms, and along with Kibukawa Station at the other end, are the only manned stations on the entire line.[3] Directly outside of the station, there is 5.3 m tall statue of a bake-danuki, which is a well-known product of the area. The statue's clothes are changed depending on the season.[4] Items recovered from Shigaraki train disaster are on display within the station building.[5]
