Sierra de Cayey

Sierra de Cayey is a mountain range that is part of the Central Puerto Rico mountain range.[1] The mountain range is located in the southeast sector of the mountain range, its elevations do not exceed 1000 m.[2]

In the Sierra de Cayey, the Grande de Loíza river, which is the largest river in Puerto Rico, has its sources. The La Plata River flows through the Cayey Valley where the town of Cayey is located on the northern slope of the sierra. In the area there are tobacco and coffee crops.[3]
