So-iuy mullet

The so-iuy mullet (Planiliza haematocheilus), also known as the haarder, redlip mullet or so-iny mullet, is a species of fish in the family Mugilidae.[2]

Previously the species was included in the genus Mugil (as Mugil soiuy), but is now considered a member of the genus Planiliza.[3][4]

Range

The natural range of the species is the Sea of Japan, from the estuary of the Amur River to South Korea. In the second part of the 20th century this fish species was artificially naturalised in the Sea of Azov,[5] and also in the Black Sea. It has also been introduced into the Mediterranean Sea.[2]

There are known 69 species of parasites of Liza haematocheilus.[1]
