Zamindari

Sonbarsa Raj was a zamindari estate and chieftaincy controlled by the Gandhavariya Rajputs.[1] It was one of the largest estates in Saharsa district and was founded by Raja Ranjit Singh. The Zamindari estate of Mangwar also belongs to the same clan. One of the famous zamindars of Sonbarsa was Maharaja Harivallabh Narayan Singh ji Sahib Bahadur who was honoured by King George V in the imperial Delhi durbar held in 1911 and was provided a royal chair along with the other royalty of India.[1]
