The South Florida Gold are a professional minor league basketball team in the American Basketball Association based in Lake Worth, Florida that began play in the 2013-14 ABA season.

The team was found in an audit by Palm Beach County school district of posing under two different charities to get reduced rent for gym rental during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. [1] [2]

As of March 9, 2014, the Gold have appeared on the league's rankings at #3, putting them just behind the Jacksonville Giants and the Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks.[3] Finished 3rd in the nation out of 80 teams nationwide.

As of March 11, 2015, the Gold have appeared on the league's rankings at #3, putting them just behind the Jacksonville Giants and the Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks.[4] Finished 3rd in the nation out of 90 teams nationwide.

As of April 11, 2016, the Gold have appeared on the league's rankings at #2.[5] Finished 3rd in the nation out of 110 teams nationwide.

As of April 4, 2017, the Gold have appeared on the league's rankings at #1 for 3 consecutive weeks and maintained a top 4 spot throughout the season.[6] Finished in the top 8 in the nation out of 120 teams nationwide.

As of April 8, 2018, the Gold have appeared on the league's rankings at #1 for 3 consecutive weeks, defeating teams such as the Kentucky Enforcers who had an undefeated record going into the top 8. The South Florida Gold finished 3rd in the nation out of 120 teams nationwide. The Gold also finished 2nd in the tournament held in Mexico at the launch of ABA Mexico. [7]

As of March 4, 2019, the Gold have appeared at #1 for 1 week, for the final league rankings of the regular season.[8]
