St. Charles County Sheriff's Department
The St. Charles County Sheriff Department (SCCSD) is responsible for court services and security, prisoner transport, civil process, and bailiffs in St. Charles County, Missouri. The current Sheriff is Scott A. Lewis. Until the end of 2014, SCCSD was the primary law enforcement agency serving unincorporated areas of St. Charles County. On January 1, 2015, the St. Charles County Police Department assumed primary responsibility for law enforcement in the county.[1]

Operations
The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department is responsible for:[2]
- Court services and security to provides a safe and orderly environment throughout the St. Charles County Courthouse with as staff of 14 commissioned and eight civilian personnel.
- Prisoner transport of individuals from the St. Charles County Corrections Center and St. Charles County Courthouse. This is done with a staff of six commissioned personnel.
- Civil process serves court documents within the boundaries of St. Charles County. This includes eviction notices, subpoenas, orders of protection, and civil papers. This staff includes nine commissioned and six civilian personnel.
- Bailiffs.
Aviation Unit
The SCCSD Aviation Unit operates as part of a multi-jurisdictional unit known as the Metro Air Support Unit. This Unit is composed of the Metropolitan Police Department, City of St. Louis as well as the St. Louis County Police Department and St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department. [3]
