Stefan Mitrović (footballer, born 2002)

Stefan Mitrović (Serbian Cyrillic: Стефан Митровић; born 15 August 2002) is a Serbian Canadian professional footballer who plays for Radnički Niš as an attacking midfielder.[1]

Career

Early career

Mitrović played for a number of youth academies in Ontario, including Toronto FC.[2] In November 2018, Mitrović took part in the CPL open tryouts, but was not approached by any club.[3]

Radnički Niš

Mitrović made his professional debut on November 23, 2019 with Radnički Niš, replacing Nikola Čumić in the 88th minute in a 0–2 defeat to Red Star Belgrade.[4]

Mitrović earned his first professional start on May 30, 2020, in a 1–1 draw to FK Napredak,[5] and scored his first goal on June 8, 2020, in a 4–3 victory over FK Radnik.[6]

International career

Youth

After debuting and scoring in the 2019–20 Serbian SuperLiga at the age of 17, Mitrović was called up to the Canada men's national U20 team by head coach Andrew Olivieri.[7]
