Syed Ali Zafar
Barrister Syed Ali Zafar (Urdu: علی ظفر ) is a Pakistan based barrister and politician, who was born and grew up in Lahore. He remained Federal Care Taker Minister of Law and Justice of Pakistan in 2018 and President Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan 2015–16. He remained President of Pakistan chapter of SAARC Law and Senior Partner of M/s Mandviwalla & Zafar & Legal Consultants.[1] He is associated as Vice President of Human Rights Society of Pakistan. His father Vatern Advocate & Senator S.M. Zafar who too remained Law Minister of Pakistan 1965–69. He earned Law Degree LL.B. from London School of Economics in 1983 and Bar at Law from England and Wales in 1984. He is Political Analyst and regularly writes in The Express Tribune on various political, social and legal issues of Pakistan.[2] He recently joined present government PTI[3]

Minister of Law & Justice
He was appointed to discharge National responsibility as a Care Taker Minister of Law & Justice in 2018 general election in the Cabinet of Care Taker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk[4] and completed the interim Political period with transparency and merits.
President of SCBAP
He was candidate of Independent group of Asma Jahangir and elected President of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan in 2015, Apex Body of Pakistani Lawyers. He remained actively involved in the Lawyers Politics and raised and solved many issues of the Bar and Lawyers.
Area of practice
He has vast experience spreading over 31 years as a practicing Barrister at Supreme Court and High Courts of Pakistan. He has expertise in Constitutional law, Administrative law, Energy law, Services law, NAB and Banking laws, Tax matters, Company and Corporate law and Property law, Competition law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Alternative dispute resolution. He is known for his legal services in civil and criminal law and committed to protect the human rights of individuals. He is Senior Partner of law firm M/s Mandviwalla & Zafar, a leading law firms of Pakistan having its registered offices with highly skilled and experienced Teams of Lawyers in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
Fellowships
He is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), and played a vital role as arbitrator in various international arbitrations. He is Life Member of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan and Lahore High Court Bar Association. He is visiting Professor and delivers lecture in various Law Colleges/Universities in Pakistan and abroad and act regularly as a Judges in Legal Moots competitions.[5]
In politics
He is following the traditions and foot step of his legendary father S.M. Zafar and entered in National Politics and joined Imran Khan present Government of PTI to render his services for public and Pakistan.[6] Prime Minister Imran Khan deputed him on various inside party (PTI) and legal tasks to do.
