Třešť

Třešť (Czech pronunciation: [ˈtr̝̊ɛʃc]; German: Triesch) is a town in Jihlava District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,700 inhabitants. The centre of the town is historically significant and is protected by law as urban monument zone.

Franz Kafka visited his uncle in Triesch, who was the subject of Kafka's story "A Country Doctor". Some also believe that the Triesch castle was the inspiration behind Kafka's novel The Castle.
