TXT discography

South Korean boy band TXT has released two studio albums and three extended plays. Formed by Big Hit Entertainment, the group debuted in South Korea on March 4, 2019 with the The Dream Chapter: Star EP. The EP debuted and peaked at number one on both the South Korean Gaon Album Chart and the US Billboard World Albums chart, and entered the Billboard 200 at number 140 to become the highest-charting debut album by any male K-pop group at the time.[1] Its lead single "Crown" debuted atop the World Digital Songs chart, making TXT the fastest K-pop group to appear on both World rankings.[2] By year end, the EP had sold over 200,000 copies domestically; it was certified platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) in November 2020 for surpassing 250,000 copies.[3] The band released their first studio album, The Dream Chapter: Magic, just over seven months later on October 21, 2019. The album sold more than 124,000 copies its first week and debuted atop the Gaon Album Chart, their second project to do so after The Dream Chapter: Star EP. It also debuted at number three and six on Billboard's World Albums and Heatseekers Album charts respectively. Four of the album's eight tracks entered the World Digital Songs chart—lead single "9 and Three Quarters (Run Away)" debuted at number two, while the other three songs charted at numbers 16, 18, and 21 respectively. The album received platinum certification in South Korea the following year, in September 2020.[4]

On January 15, 2020, TXT officially debuted in Japan with their first Japanese single "Magic Hour". The single debuted at number one on Oricon's Daily Singles Chart and number two on the Weekly chart, and was eventually certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for selling 100,000 physical units. TXT's second Korean-language EP, The Dream Chapter: Eternity, was released on May 18. Sales crossed 181,000 copies during the first week and the EP entered Gaon's Album Chart at number two, debuted at number one on the Oricon Albums Chart to give the band its first chart-topper in Japan, and at number four on the Billboard World Albums chart. In under two months, the EP received platinum certification from the KMCA; this was TXT's first certification in their home country since debut.[5] It was the 28th best-selling album of 2020 in South Korea with over 358,000 copies sold.[6] The band's second Japanese single "Drama" was released on August 19. It debuted and peaked at number three on the Oricon Singles Chart and was also certified gold by the RIAJ. Two months later, the band released its third Korean-language EP, Minisode1: Blue Hour, on October 26. The EP exceeded domestic sales of over 300,000 copies its first week and opened at number three on the Gaon Album Chart. It was certified platinum by the KMCA on December 10,[7] and ended the year as the 19th best-selling album of 2020 in South Korea, having sold over 476,000 copies in just two months.[6] The EP entered the Oricon Albums Chart in first place, and became the band's second number-one album in Japan. In the US, it peaked at number one on the World Albums chart and debuted at number 25 on the Billboard 200, marking the first time TXT entered the top 100 of the chart and the highest-charting entry of their career on the ranking.[8]

The band released its first Japanese studio album, Still Dreaming, on January 20, 2021.
