History

Opened on 18 December 2016, the interchange caters to new Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) Bus Service 129, as well as Bus Services 18 and 39 from the existing Tampines Bus Interchange. A pair of new bus stops were constructed along Tampines Central 1, outside Tampines Bus Interchange, where it facilitates a shorter walking distance for commuters to the MRT Station for Bus Service 18 which was amended from Tampines Bus Interchange to Tampines Concourse Bus Interchange.[1]

On 21 October 2017, Feeder Bus Service 298 was introduced under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP). Service 298 was launched together with the official opening of Downtown Line 3.[2]

Bus Contracting Model

Under the new bus contracting model, all the bus routes terminating at the interchange are under the Tampines Bus Package.
