Teenaa Kaur Pasricha is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter best known for her documentary film 1984, When the Sun didn't Rise which won India's National Film Award for Best Investigative Film, announced on 13 April 2018 by Government of India appointed jury headed by filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

She has been selected for the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)[7] "Fellowship on Films for Social Change" by the U.S. Department of State in January, 2020.[8] She won New Voices Fellowship from Time Warner Foundation supported Asia Society, New York for her feature film script The Red Autumn.[9][10]

Career

Teenaa Kaur got prestigious “AND” fund[11] from Busan International Film Festival's prestigious funding 2015 for the film 1984, When the Sun didn't Rise. She is a Production and Industrial Engineering Graduate from M.B.M. Engineering College, Jodhpur.

Her other films are on environment and wildlife conservation. The deer,tree and me is a creative documentary, was nominated for Best Documentary in Mumbai International Film Festival, (MIFF) 2016.[12] It was premiered in SiGNS Film Festival, Kochi 2015 and also screened in Kolkata International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT) film festival, 2016.[13]

In Symphony with Earth was broadcast on National Geographic and Fox History.[14] The Woods are Calling has been made for Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT).[15] It has been broadcast on Doordarshan, Dhaka International Film Festival 2018,[16] Quotes from the Earth film festival 2018.[17] The film has been screened at Sunchild International Environmental Festival, Yerevan,[18] Kolkata People’s Film Festival (KPFF).[19][20][21][22]

Her films have been screened in various universities across the globe.[23][24][25][26][27]
