Tequila Mockingbird

Tequila Mockingbird is an album by jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis, released in 1977 on Columbia Records.[4] The album peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart.[5]

Overview

Tequila Mockingbird was produced by Bert De Couteaux and Larry Dunn. Artists such as EWF members Al McKay and Johnny Graham on guitars and bassist Verdine White featured on the album,[1] along with the horn production of Eddie del Barrio.[6]

The LP's title track also appears on five of Ramsey Lewis' compilation albums.[1]

Covers

Dee Dee Bridgewater recorded a version of "Tequila Mockingbird" with lyrics written by Roxanne Seeman on her 1979 studio album "Bad For Me".[7][8] Skippin' was also covered by Victor Feldman.[9]
